While there are plenty of useful items to be found on the merchants in Trieste, most major transactions happen between players. 

Finding a Buyer/Seller 

The Match channel on chat is the primary means by which buyers and sellers look for each other, but it is restricted to characters of level 100 or higher. If you have an item you’d like to sell, and want to show it off, holding Shift and right-clicking an item will create a link in your Chat, which other players can click in order to see the details of the item, once you write and send your message. 

Sometimes, players will not set prices in DIL, but instead use Blacksmith’s Grace, a valuable item that is consumed in high-level gear Reinforcement. “Grace 35”, or simply “35” refers to a Blacksmith’s Grace 35%, which increases Reinforcement success by 35%. Some players set price in other items, such as Mitera’s Anger, known as “angers”. 

Conducting a Trade 

To trade with another player, you must be relatively close to their character. 

To initiate the trade, target the player character with whom you want to trade, and select the Trade option on the target window menu. 

The other player will be notified that you want to trade with them, and they can accept or deny as they choose. It’s polite to talk to someone before offering to trade. If the other player accepts your offer, the Trade Window will open. 

The details of haggling over exchanges are left to the players, but once both players have agreed upon a trade, both click on the items from their respective inventories which are to be exchanged, placing them into the Trade Window. If DIL is part of the exchange, you can click the Send button that appears on your inventory screen, where Drop used to be. The mouse-over message says “discard,” but the number you select will actually be transferred to the Trade Window, as part of your offer. 

When you are satisfied with the trade, click the Confirm button on the Trade Window. Both players must click Confirm, at which point the final trade will be displayed, with a pink aura over it to indicate that this is the final trade. You can’t alter the exchange at this point, you can only either Confirm it again to finalize the trade or Cancel to exit the exchange without trading anything. 

Once both players agree, the trade goes through and the items and/or cash are exchanged. Please be aware that all trades between players are final – they cannot be reversed by the player or Game Operations Team if one player changes their mind later, unless the other player agrees.

Personal Shops 

If you want to sell something without actively hunting for a buyer, you can set up a Personal Shop. You can only set up a shop in Ardeca, you can only sell tradable items, and you can only set prices in DIL. 

To access your Personal Shop, press the / key. Place whatever items you would like to sell into the Personal Shop screen, at which point you will be prompted to set a price, in DIL. For stacked items, this is the price per item in the stack, not for the entire stack. You can set a custom name for your shop by entering it in the Shop Name text box, otherwise your shop will just display as “[your name]’s Shop.” Once your inventory, prices, and name are set, press the Open Shop button, and your Personal Shop will be active. 

Players can approach you, browse your stock by clicking on you, and purchase your inventory. You can do the same for other players whose Personal Shops are active. 

The DIL you receive from your Personal Shop will not be added directly to your DIL supply, but instead be added to your shop’s Sale total, so you can see how much money you have made. Press the Withdraw button to add it to your carried cash. The Personal Shop scrolling text window will display what items were sold, but not who bought them. If you press Sales Record, the sales data will be printed to a text tile in your Dekaron folder, just like the Chat Log.

You can purchase more Personal Shop inventory space in the DShop. 

Middlemen 

If you are in a shopping mood but don’t want to search through each Player Shop individually, you can approach the Middlemen in Ardeca, who will allow you to browse and search the inventories of every Player Shop that’s currently running, and purchase from them without needing to seek them out.
