Guilds
Guilds are player-created and operated groups who join together in pursuit of a common goal, a shared value, or just to be part of something larger. They're a great way to meet and communicate with fellow players, and they can offer passive bonuses to character stats and experience point gain. A player character can only be part of one guild at a time, and your guild is displayed on your character’s floating name plate for everyone to see.
Choosing and applying to a guild is not covered in this guide, as it is done at the whims of Dekaron’s players and the guilds they have formed. Once you have found a guild who will have you as a member, you need just accept their invite in order to join.
Participating in a Guild
How much control you have over a guild’s operations is dependent on your Guild Rank. Regardless of your rank, there are some options you will always have when you are part of a guild. You can access them through the Guild Window, which can be opened by pressing G.
Under the Guild tab, you’ll be able to view vital information about your guild, such as its name, guild level, and number of members. By clicking the Manage button, you’ll have access to a set of functions that will vary depending on your rank, but all guild members can select Siege Authority to apply to Siege. Under the Func button, all guild members (except the leader) have the option to quit the guild if they wish, and to donate their DIL and Adventure Points. Both donations are used for certain guild functions, described below under “Running a Guild”.
The Participant tab lists all members of the guild, with online members highlighted. You can left-click a member to either send them a whisper, or See Info to open a new window with their information displayed.
Starting Your Own Guild
If you would rather be in charge of your own guild, or enjoy a guild’s benefits without having to seek one out, you will need to find talk to Blake, the Guild Master, at Ardeca’s Guild Hall.
To start a guild, your character must have reached a minimum level of 50, and you must spend a one-time registration fee of 1,000,000 DIL. You’ll need to give your guild a name as well, which follows the same restrictions as character names (upper- and lowercase letters, and numbers), but can be up to 20 characters long.
You will be the Guild Leader of your new guild, and as leader you cannot leave the guild through the Guild window. If another member joins, you may pass leadership to them (see below on how to do so) and then leave. Alternatively, if you are the only member of the guild, you can talk to Blake to dissolve it. Your guild can’t be dissolved if it is part of an Alliance, if it is in a state of Guild War, or if it is on the waiting list for Siege (more information on these below). If these conditions are met, Blake can dissolve your guild at no cost.
Running a Guild
Inviting other players to a guild is much like inviting them to a group; just target them and select the Guild option from the targeting window’s collapsible menu. Like trading or grouping, it’s polite to talk to someone first before inviting them to a guild. A guild can have a maximum of 50 player characters as members.
Newly-invited guild members will be set to guild rank 10 (“Guild Member”). There are 10 guild ranks, each of which can have its name and permissions customized by the guild leader, and anyone else of a rank with the Set Authorities permission enabled.
Guild rank names and permissions are accessed via the Set Privileges option under the Manage button. The guild leader will always be the only guild member at rank 1, and a guild can only have one leader. The guild leader’s permissions are all enabled, and this cannot be changed.
To change a guild member’s rank, left-click their name under the Participants tab, and select Change Ranks. You can’t change your own rank, even if you have permission to do so. There are no restrictions on how far a guild member can be promoted, so be wary of granting this function to someone if you don't want them promoting guild members to the highest rank below leader. The guild leader can also pass leadership to another member by selecting their name on the Participants tab.
The Announcements function under Manage lets eligible guild members set the guild’s announcement message, which will be visible to all guild members in the Announcements panel of the guild window.
The Skills tab lists the levels of Growth Acceleration and Superior Battle that your guild has access to. Guild members of sufficient rank can activate these skills to grant temporary boosts to combat performance or experience gain for all guild members, for the listed duration. Higher ranks cost guild resources, which is why donating to your guild is both necessary and appreciated.
Accessing higher levels of guild buffs will require a higher Guild Level. The guild leader can raise their guild's level by talking to Blake, who will charge a certain amount of guild points and GPoints to increase your guild level by one. Higher levels cost more guild points and GPoints.
Guild Resources
Guild levels and higher levels of guild buffs do not come free – they require DIL, Guild Points, and GPoints.
Guild DIL is the same DIL that players collect and spend. It must be donated to the guild by members, under the Func button on the guild window. Guild DIL can't be withdrawn once donated.
Guild Points come from the Adventure Points that players receive when they complete certain quests – usually repeatable or daily quests found at the Commission Centers in most maps. Adventure points must be donated by guild members in units of one thousand, and every thousand adventure points contributes one guild point.
GPoints are received when guild members reach higher levels. To the right of the GPoint number on the guild window is a blue bar. This bar increases as individual characters in the guild increase in level, with higher levels increasing the bar more than lower ones. Once the bar is filled, it will reset to 0%, and the guild will be awarded one GPoint. Levels attained from turning in items for experience points don’t increase the GPoint bar.
Medals are received when completing the Guild Quests given by Commission Centers. They can also be found on certain rare and powerful monsters in the world. Giving these medals to Vascuda, who spends his time at the pub across the street from the Guild Hall, will grant your guild the indicated number of Frontier Points. Each week, the guild who has gathered the highest numbers of FP will be able to access Frontier Dungeon for the following week, completion of which awards an exclusive Title.
Guild Emblems
In addition to your guild name, your character’s name plate will also display your Guild Emblem. The guild leader can visit Blake to select a guild icon from a list of images. A list of background colors and patterns is also available, letting you create a unique emblem for your guild. Creating or altering a guild emblem costs 100,000 DIL.
Under the Items → Themes tab in the DShop, the guild leader can select one of several Guild of Glory effects, which add dynamic visual effects to guild emblems. Blake can remove an effect if the guild leader wishes, but the effect is gone and must be purchased again from the DShop again if the guild leader wants to restore it.
Alliances
If you are approaching the guild member limit of 50, or otherwise wish to associate yourself with another guild without leaving your own, you can form an Alliance with at least one other guild, and invite even more guilds to join you.
Your guild level must be at least 2 to form or join an alliance. Once these conditions are set, the leader of one guild must target the leader of another, and select Alliance from the target window’s drop-down menu, just like inviting someone to a party or guild. When the other guild leader approves, the inviting guild leader will be prompted to name the alliance. Once they do so, the alliance is created.
Member guilds of an alliance can be viewed on the Alliance tab of the guild window. The guilds are listed, with the leader of the first guild also being designated the Alliance Leader. The guild leader who sent the initial alliance invitation is designated the alliance leader by default.
Like guilds, the alliance leader can also select an emblem and emblem effect for the alliance and enter announcements for all members to see. If the alliance leader wishes to step down, they can pass alliance leadership to another guild, whose leader will then be designated as the alliance leader. Guilds can also be expelled from the alliance by the alliance leader.
Alliances disband automatically when they are reduced to a single member guild.
